## Methodology **Maybe they will forget** tracks brands that disabled or limited their TikTok comments after a controversy — and whether they ever turned them back on. ### How we verify status - **Off** — Comments are fully disabled on the account or relevant posts. We require a dated screenshot or archived link. - **Limited** — Comments are restricted (e.g. only followed/verified accounts can reply). Verified via direct observation plus a screenshot. - **Back On** — Comments are openly available again. We record the reopen date and freeze the silence counter. ### The day counter For companies that are still **Off** or **Limited**, the counter shows the number of days since comments went off, updating every day. Once a company is **Back On**, we freeze the counter and label it *"Was silent for X days."* ### Corrections Think we got something wrong? Submit a tip with proof and we'll review it.
